So.... What is Asa doing these days?

This is the life!

I love kicking back in this chair!

I'm sleepy!

April 2, 2003, two nights and one day at home, Asa was sent to Children's Medical Center in Dallas, TX.
On April 21, 2003 our little man underwent his sixth major surgery, his first open heart surgery. As usual there were complications. What was supposed to be five hours lasted nine hours. Dr. Ring's words "This was not your usual tet repair."
That is all I have to say at this time concerning his 17 week ordeal. I just want to go forward for now. Today Asa enjoys his time at home with his favorite Nurse, Jennifer.
On Monday, March 31, 2003, after one day shy of 11 weeks stay in Medical City Dallas, Asa is home.
In a nutshell... we went in January 14 for an overnight visit for a heart catheterization in the AM. He had a bleed from the cath, developed a staph pneunonia, discovered he had another diaphragmatic hernia, had it repaired, developed a psuedomonas infection that they gave him less than 50% survival rates, failed to breath on his own, so he had surgery to place a tracheostomy, developed MRSA, now coming home to await open heart surgery on April 21, 2003, ventilator and O2 dependant.

We wish to thank all those at the MCD PICU that helped him get back home.

The tongue is quicker than the camera!

Big Smile!

Some Pictures
Of Asa

I really love my dum dum lollipops

Specially grape... yum...yum...

Look mom no hands!

These things are sooo good,
I forget about that oral aversion stuff...

I also forget which hand I have
the lollipop in...

Sometimes I use it to scratch my nose
That darn nasal canula makes me itch!
ahh... that feels good.
